2001 Ford Explorer check engine light

\015 Check engine light came on, indicating po171 and 174 replaced MAF sensor yesterday drove 60 miles check engine light came on again, vehicle runs very good - but did notice that fuel comsumption was lower when we replace the MAF sensor, when the light came on it seemed to consume more fuel may be my imagination but thought it was worth noting. Husband did check for vacumn leaks - none - also checked resistors - we have another MAF sensor coming in tomorrow to see if the one we received from store was faulty - we arehoping that we don't have to replace the other 2 sensors - if this is the path we need to go which one would you suggest we change first to save ourselves the headache and the money - ? whats the best route for process of elimination in saving time and money?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 23-04-2018

Fords have, very coming problems with vacium leaks, make sure to check the pcv hose assemvbly, one of the best ways to check it is to have it check with a smoke machine, but if you want to do it your self buy a carburetor clener and make sure it says flamable, the start the engine and spray litle by little all over the vacium hoses, if the rpm increases or drecrese by doing that, pay attention where are you spraying the fluid because you just found the leak
Had the same problem and i change the defe sensor and check engine lightg went of and never did came back on
