Having problems with your 2001 Ford Focus ?
I have a 2001 Ford Focus. The service engine light came on. The diagnosis was I need to repalce the EGR value. Where is it located and can I do this myself. Also how do you determine if it is a SOHC or DOHC?

Not sure what your diagnosis was but usually it is not the valve that goes bad. Its usually the DPFE sensor. Both these parts are easty to replace. The EGR valve looks like a flying saucer on top of the engine with a vacuum line going to it. Its most likely green line. The DPFE isnt far away from it. There are two lines going to it and an electrical connector.
