Having problems with your 2001 Ford Focus ?

Altenater belt there is 5 or 6 pulleys there is a wheel that im not sure but i know it rotates like the pulleys but does not have the belt groves. how offten do u change the belt it is worn and loose but not broke

If the pulley doesn't have grooves, it's most likely the tensioner pulley that you adjust to tighten or loosen the belt. Below is a diagram for your car that shows the individual pulleys and the belt routing.\012As far as how often to replace the belt, every other year works for me unless you put a lot of miles(more than 35,000 a year) on your car then I would advise every year.
