Temp gauge dos not work car idle at 1100 Rpm

\015 Temp gauge intermittently going to cold then stays there. When this happens the engine idles at 1100rpm as if the choke is on\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018

Answers :

Technically you are right, the choke is on.
When the engine temp is cold, or the computer thinks its cold, the computer bumps the base idle up until the engine warms up.
You could have a problem with the temp sensors, or the cooling system could be low on coolant.
