2001GMC yukon replacing rear rotors

\015 We just replaced the rotor on my GMC yukon 2 wheel drive and we need to know how to reset the parking brake, or if it is needed to reset it? Also, does it really matter if we replace only one side and not the other? The left side was paper thin and craked with touch but the right side is barely worn.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-12-2018

Answers :

ALWAYS replace pads and/or shoes in pairs .. the fact that one side is so much more worn than the other is a RED flag .. you may have frozen caliper ..
Both sides on the same axel should be done and if one side worn down allot more the the other then it sounds like you brake caliper is sticking or the other is just not working properly check for binding ,air in lines .bad brake hoses .the cracked rotor indicates it got very hot si I would focus on that caliper and you should have the brakes fluid changed and flushed because of the high heat that the rotor put out causes brake fluid to boil and degrade as far as the reset of p brake not sure what you mean but since these are your brakes you should have a certified brake mechanic inspect your vehicle better to be safe and alive then to save a few bucks
