Having problems with your 2001 Jaguar S-Type ?

A/C starts cool then turns hot on drivers vents

\015 2005 Jaguar S type 4.2 V8 When you start the a/c in the morning it starts cool then grows progressively hot, very hot on the drivers side. I have taken it to two different shops and they say it is the heater control valve. The extended warranty has expired (of course) and I want to attempt to replace it myself. I can't seem to find a repair manual ANYWHERE. How do you make the change? Does it need the freon drained first?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 22-07-2019

Answers :

The sensor you are referring to is called the EVAP temp sensor. If\015\012faulty it will cut off the a/c. The sensor is located on the heater box\015\012under the driver side center of the dash. It is a white sensor that is\015\012in the box and has a two wire grey connector. The sensor will just pop\015\012out of the box. If it was diagnosed as a controller it may not be the\015\012sensor as the dealer should know to check that first. It may be worth a\015\012shot as the sensor is cheap and you can just pop it in yourself. I have\015\012replaced both for similiar problems.
