Having problems with your 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, steering noise, restricted lock

\015 I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, for the last few weeks the steering has been making a tremendous 'knocking' noise with a slight vibration through the steering wheel, all upon turning left, generally at slow speeds, corners, manouvres etc. It also restricts the 'lock' amount as well. This doesn't always happen though which also brings into play the intermitent problems scenario. There are no such problems to the right ?My superb mechanic is a bit stumped, can you help ?Many thanks,Roger (07957 123333)\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 22-02-2021

My 2001 jeep was doing that recently. Have you checked the steering fluid. If low need to fill, then turn on car and turn the steering wheel to get fluid going through lines. Also check the input and output lines make sure they don't have a hole or crack. In which my input line had a hole and was able to replace, refill fluid working just fine.
