Having problems with your 2001 Kia Sportage ?
Sometimes it wont start and the other day I was driving down the road and it just died and now it wont start
It sounds like you have a problem with your alternator. There are two major parts to your cars electrical system, and those are the Alternator and Battery. The battery stores power in order to start the car and provides power when the car is running. The alternator uses the car engine to charge the battery. If the alternator is not working, it will not supply power to charge the battery or keep the car running. If you have a bad alternator, it will cause your car to stall and will not charge the battery, leaving you with a dead battery all the time. You can take your car to an auto parts store like Autozone and have them check your alternator and battery for free (if you can get it started again). Alternators are fairly easy to replace if you know how to do it, but I would recommend taking your car to a friend or a mechanic to get a new alternator put in.
Is it cranking or is there nothing when you turn the key? So you have interior lights?
