Having problems with your 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder ?

When i start my car it revs up to 2,000 rpm's .when i start going it's fine but high idle untill i slow down and it starts idling up and down untill i slow down as it shifts down gears (atuo trans) this happens after a long drives in my car 2-3 hrs . it can last a month or more and then it's fine???

This is caused by a loose plate or plate retaining screw outside the throttle body. There is a mounting screw in the bottom of the throttle body that holds an adjustment plate. the screw ussually gets loose and needs to be retighten due to vacuum loss thru the head of that bold. It simply needs to be retighten. IT IS VERY HARD TO REACH THIS BOLT and does not have much room. Patience is a virtue here.
First thing i would check is IAC (idle air control) a lot times these can be removed and cleaned with carburetor cleaner then reinstalled if cleaning does not work than replace IAC
