Having problems with your 2001 Nissan Sentra ?

Brake and Battery dashboard lights coming on at same time

\015 My car is a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8L Engine and a couple times this week the battery and brake dashboard lights came on. When I went to start the car last night the battery was almost drained and sincei just had the brushes in the alternator replaced in Sept I figured itwas the battery(which was the original nissan factory battery) so Ireplaced it. Well this morning the lights came back on after I hit the brakes in traffic.I've read through some of the other posts saying that people have replaced the alternators and the lights still came on but I also didn't see any answers so I'm posting the same question myself.I don't have the cash to just replace stuff until it stops so if anyone out there has any ideas what this is I'd greatly appreciate it... Thanks!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-03-2018

Answers :

Check looseness or corrosion on the leads and wiring at the battery terminals. Check for looseness or corrosion on the alternator connectors. With vehicle started and reved to 2000RPM, use a voltmeter to measure voltage and that measurement should be between 13.5-14.8. If you're unable to achieve this voltage have your alternator checked at autozone or advance auto, its free. Hopefully this helps
