Having problems with your 2001 Oldsmobile Alero ?

Change oil light

\015 My change oil light came on. I got the oil changed, but the light is still on. I don't have an owner's manual. Someone told me you have to push the trip odometer and hold it while the lights are on or something as such. I'm having no luck and wondered if anyone REALLY knew how to trigger the switch.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-10-2019

Actually, there is a reset button in the fuse box on the driver side. They probably just forgot to reset it. Hold the button in and it should reset.
I had an Olds that that happened to.  Had many friends tell me to do this and to do that.  What I should have done was bring it to be serviced.  I didn't and the motor froze up.  Its in the junk yard now.
Go straight to the serviceman.  Do not drive it.  Have the oil pump checked.
Hope you fare better than I did.
