Having problems with your 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE ?

I have a 2001 Grand Am 6 cyl. and it has been overheating which if you turned on the heater it would start to drop temperature. now if you turn the heater on when it overheats, it blows cold air. we have replaced the head gaskets on this about three years ago also. what else could this be?
