Having problems with your 2001 Volkswagen Passat ?

2001 Passat 1.8 Turbo engine sputtering and hesitating

\015 Whenever I put the passat in reverse or drive it starts to shake, which is not normal or it. I took it to a mechanic who used the X431 diagnostic smart box and it gave off 17 codes. Code P1128-Bank 1 mixture adaptation (mult) :system too lean, code P1328 Cylinder 4-knock control: limit attained, code P1326 Cylinder 2-knock control:limit attained, code P0116 Engine coolant tempature circuit-G62:range performance, Code P1296 Malfunction in cooling system, code P1327 Cylinder 3-knock control: limit attained, P0328 Knock sensor 1 circuit bank 1-G61:high, code P 0333 knock sensor 2 circuit bank 1:G66:high, code P0012 A camshaft position (bank1) :timing over-retarded, code P1325 cylinder 1-knock control:limit attained, code P1602 power supply (B+) terminal 30:low voltage, code P1176 Bank 1 lambda correction downstream of catalyst:control limit attained, code P0300 random multiple cylinder:misfire detected, code P0301 Cylinder 1:misfire detected, code P0302 cylinder 2:misfire detected, code P0304 cylinder 4: misfire detected, code P0303 cylinder 3:misfire detected. At first the car was running fine then all of a sudden it started sputtering after it reached 60mph and 3000-4000prm. I got the spark plugs switched out from autozone and I got the flex pipe changed. The dealership said that the car needs a new catalyc converter, water pump, and timing belt, but when i took the car to auto mufflers to replace to catalyc converter the guy told me that the converter was still in pretty good shape and that I should just fix the flex pipe which i did. All that is left is to get the timing belt and water pump changed but I don't think that those two things could cause all of these problems. Now all of a sudden when i put the car in gear it starts to shake uncontrollably and I can't figure out why. Please anybody with experience in this area all the help will be gladly appreciated! Answers :

My car was doing this and I had to get all new coil packs... Mine were replaced under recall at the dealership at no cost.\012If you take each code and google it, or even check a VW forum, I'm sure the members there can provide a lot more thorough information......\012I have a 2001.5 Passat myself and when one thing goes out they all follow suit.\012I will help with some research for you and post back...... But I'd check the coil packs that sit atop the spark plugs.
