Having problems with your 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe ?

Rough Engine When it is Cold

\015 I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe with about 91K miles. When it is cold, the engine starts right up, but runs very rough. Once it warms up, it runs fine. We had in and the mechanic noted that the fuel pump psi was 44-50 and should be 50-62. We had that replaced for $1,100. With the snow and cold here in Denver this week, it is running just as rough. Now they want to change the spark plugs and wire for additional $600. No problems when it is above 50 degrees.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-06-2018

Sounds like the intake gaskets are sucking air when cold. When it warms up then they expand and take up the space and no longer **** air. You can test the theory by spraying a little water on the intake while it's running if it starts missing even more then that is most likly the problem. It's not a hard job to do, but if you do not have wobble sockets then it will be a little more diffacult.
\015\012But if they want 600 bucks to do plugs and wires then you need to find another shop to work on your tahoe! That's alot of money for something that only takes a few minutes to do, and the parts shouldn't be much more than 150-200 on the high side!
