2002 Daewoo Leganza CDX Stalls bad after Timing Belt Replacement

\015 Hi. My 2002 Daewoo Leganza has been running great for at least 50,000 miles now. At last the Almighty Timing Belt went out and the car stalled. So we had it towed and a mechanic came to replace the timing belt as will as the valves, camshafts, head gasket, water pump. After he had worked on it the car starts great but then stalls as soon as you slow down or come to a complete stop. The mechanic said we had to drive it for a week and have a tune up. We did that replacing spark plugs, ignition wires, new oil. Drove great for about an hour then started stalling again. Did some research had the alternator tested and the battery both are running real strong, cleaned out the throttle and the EGR valve put in a new air filter, oil filter. The orange ignition light is on and it smokes black smoke at start up with a strong gas smell. At this point after studying about my lil Daewoo I am pretty much fed up with the mechanic who said it would be running like new and in fact its running worse then before when it died. I love my car and would hate to give it up. Please if anyone has any advice please help!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-01-2020
