2002 Escape electrical problems after battery replaced

\015 I just replaced my battery, and the car's electronics are not powering on or functioning correctly: - The radio, clock, lamps, and lighter do not power on, even with the engine running. - The power locks do not work when the engine is off.- The trip odometer resets every time the engine is turned off.The car sat idle for several weeks with the dead battery before having it replaced. Any idea what the fix is for this?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 11-11-2019

In the case of Lighter, Radio etc...Have you checked fuses?
They are all common to one fuse.
Even if it LOOKS good - double check it or just replace it.
They should incorporate multiple fuses (one for constant memory power and one for switched ignition power) Some Use 3 Fuses!!
Check your OWNERS MANUAL in the "Roadside Emergencies" section.

Radio & Clock is location 12 - 5A fuse
Lighter is Location 14 - 20A fuse
Cluster Lights are Location 16 & 18 - 10A & 5Afuse

Door Locks have a failed relay - however this is incorporated in the GEM (General Electronic Module) and not seperately serviceable. The entire module must be replaced.

Same with the Odometer - the hot-at-all-times relay has failed - and this is inside the ICM - Instrument Cluster Module.

One thing to check besides fuses is if a rodent got under the hood and chewed some of the wiring.
It is odd to lose constant memory function for the locks and ODO.

THanks for using FixYa!!
