Having problems with your 2002 Ford Explorer ?
I have a 2004 ford Explorer, 4x4 and this is the second alternator put on it, the first one they said was putting out too little amps, and this one is too much, plus the instrument panel shows the needle jumping from H to L and the battery light flashes on and off. Well we have replaced the battery also. Still having same problem. Afraid to drive because it has cut off on me.
YOU NEED TO CHECK OR CALL THE FORD DEALERSHIP.TELL THEM YOUR ENGINE SIZE AND YEAR OF VECHICLE.THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT AMP ALTERNATOR TO USE.IF YOU HAVING IDLING PROBLEMS.WHEN YOU DISCONNECT BATTERY.TO REPLACE ALTERNATOR.THE COMPUTER LOST MEMORY.WHICH WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE IDLE CAUSING VECHICLE TO STALL OUT AT STOP SIGNS OR LIGHTS.THE COMPUTER WILL RELEARN ITS SELF BUT ITS BEST TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP TO RESET YOUR IDLE SO YOUR VECHICLE WILL STOP STALLING OUT ON YOU.
