Having problems with your 2002 Ford F150 Regular Cab ?
Theft light on-- engine wont start
\015 2002 f-150. usually happens daily, the engine will turn over but will not start. when this happens the theft light on the dash is blinking and i notice the digital mileage has dashes across it (----------). I take the key out and try again and it usually starts and runs great! it has died on me once. any help would be greatly appreciated!! Is this something i can fix myself ?\015

Disconnect the battery and leave for a few hours/overnight. Hopefully, the system will discharge itself enough to reset.
There is a sensor that reads a code on the key, that sensor is in the ignition lock cylinder, it may be defective, also the problem can be the key, in any event u will need to have the key programmed if u replace the key or the ignition lock cylinder.
