Having problems with your 2002 Ford Mustang ?

LOSS OF POWER EXHAUST LEAK WHERE MANIFOLD PIE CONNECTS TO EXHAUST

\015 I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE I HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED ON MY 2001 MUSTANG . THE MECHANIC BROKE THE CONNECTION THERE AND I HAVE HAD IT WELDED TWICE AND IT STILL LEAKS AFTER A FEW DAYS. I AM CONSIDERING REPLACING THE HEADER(MANIFOLD ) SO THAT THE TWO PIPES WILL JOIN TOGETHER AND ADDING A GASKET A OF SOME KIND. MY FEAR IS THE DAMAGE THATS BEING DONE TO MY ENGINE IN THE MEANTIME.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-09-2018

Answers :

If the exhaust is just cracked i wouldnt worrie about the engine because you still have a lot of backpressure and it should not burn a valve. but replacing the header is a good idea if the header itself is cracked. and to tell you the truth your mechanic should be responsible for the cost of the repair since he broke it in the first place. In the shop i own if one of my mechanics breaks something it comes out of my pocket to replace. its all part of the job sometimes things just happen and you have to take the responsibility for it
