Having problems with your 2002 GMC Sonoma Extended Cab ?

2002 sonoma sls 4wd shift on the fly when i shift from 4 wheel hi to 2 wheel hi, it is slow to react and when it does it shifts very hard

The solonoid is sticking and i think you will have to dismantle it then grease the operating shaft with some copper slip type grease ,or that white grease for water pumps ,but the gold copper grease is best
This may be an indication of either lack of maintenance or improper fluid used in the T-case. Check all of your mounts for the engine and transmission. Check the fluid in the t-case and if it has not been changed in some time, it might be a good idea. If you do not have an idea of the proper fluids to use or do not have an owner's handbook, please let me know and I will send you one to download.
