Having problems with your 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe ?

When turning the key to start the engine there is nothing but an occasional clicking sound. The battery is good and the connections are good. Could this be the solenoid?

Answers :

Yes...the solenoid is part of the starter ....it is mounted to it....It comes as a unit.....although sometimes the connections at the starter solenoid become loose and will cause the same problem..
\012So it is best to check connections at the starter before you buy one...Normally it is the smallest wire..... this is known as the start wire...But check all...Make sure the noise is coming from that area.
\012.....This will be a loud like ticking quickly................Hope this helps..............Metalpoet...
The starter powers off a relay , then goes to the solenoid, then to the stater/motorr itself. possible starter motor. the solinoid may not be servicable as its own unit.
