Having problems with your 2002 Hyundai XG350 ?

The brake lights won't go off even though the car is off. I checked everything (no doors open, not the parking brake). On my drove home, the brake pedal was making a metalic clicking noise when I pressed it. I only am thinking of that now that the brake lights won't go off. No heavy braking. Great. Now my battery is gonna die.

Hi from uk this fault is most probably your brake pedal switch is not being pushed to off poosition by pedal when released hence b/lights stay on the b/lights do operate with and without ignition on on hyundais as for your symptoms of clicking ?? as pedal pressed ? this may well be there is a crack on pedal box or the pedal ? strongly advise you check this out ! however for now you can reach under lower dash and diconnect the wire plug from the b/light switch or remove fuse for brake lights to prevent battery drain and or blowing bulbs eventually due to higher wattage of brake lights bulbs heating up if left on hope this helps?
I had the same problem... there's a little switch that connects to the brake pedal when it's not being depressed. The bolt that holds the mechanism together was loose. I tightened the bolt just enough to where the lights went off when the pedal wasn't depressed, but if you tighten it too much, your brakes get really touchy and tighten up.
