Having problems with your 2002 Jeep Liberty ?

Liberty 3.7l, stalled and would restart. Has had new cam and crank sensor. Was checking crank sensor and ASD fuse blew. Replaced fuse and continued to crank ove, smelled something hot, found #3 coil was smoking, removed coil (it melted) and replaced. cranked over and new coil is too hot to touch. Also checked spart plugs, looks like it is time to replace them .065in gap. Why won't this thing start?

Answers :

Well, some things need to be done systematically. Check for spark to make sure the coils are in fact working. Check for fuel to make sure you don't have a bum fuel pump and/or plugged filter. Ignition coils will get hot. The very fact that it melted may be the sign of a computer issue. Let me know what you find and then we can move forward.
