Having problems with your 2002 Jeep Liberty ?

A/C works fine when the car is in motion. If I am stopped at a long red light, the a/c doesn't really cool.

\015 For the past month I have been having a/c issues with my Jeep Liberty XL 2002, 3.7 Liter Engine. The A/C works fine while the car is in motion. Once I have to stop at a red light, some lights are longer than others, the a/c doesn't continue cooling. When I take off again, the a/c cools back down in about 5 minutes. My husband tried adding refrigerant, but didn't make a difference. While the refrigerant was connected, he revved the engine and something made a popping noise and a small plume of smoke expelled from somewhere!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

Answers :

The pop and puff was likely the pressure relief valve expelling the excess refrigderant front the a/c compressor.\012\012Make sure the cooling fan is coming on when the a/c is on.
