Having problems with your 2002 Mitsubishi Galant ?

Bent engine valves

\015 I brought my 2002 mitsubishi galant to the garage to have the timing belt replaced because the mileage was up, the told me two of my 16 valve got bent and showed me a great amount of carbon build up on one of the valves. can that be the reason when they got bent????\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-07-2019

Answers :

Could be if the carbon was built up enough--other reasons--weak valve spring -rocker out of adjustment-
Yes it can happen. If a chunk of carbon breaks off and gets stuck between the valve and the valve seat thats exactly what happens.
