Having problems with your 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue ?

Olds Intrigue transmissions shift Harshly & disappears

\015 I had a 1999 Olds. Intrigue which started to have transmissions problems at 100, 000 miles. The transmission would shift harshly ( some people said it was in it safe mode) but this problem would disappear when you shut the car off & waited a couple minutes & then restart the car. The first time it happen, I had a transmission mechanic look at it. He test drove the car & it was fine. He changed the fluid & it did not appear again for a whole year ( another 20,000 miles). This problem continue to get worse as I piled on the miles--- at about 190,000 miles the problem was appearing every 3 or 4 days but would disappear when the car was shut off. I purchased another Olds Intrigue 2002 about 18 months ago which had 18,000 miles. This car has 49,000 miles now & I have experience a mild shifting problem that goes away just like the 1999 Olds. Could this problem be in the electrical system for the transmission? Or the car computer malfunctioning? If it was just a mechanical problems why wouldn't I have the problem all the time? Have you heard of this problem before with Olds Intrigues? Please advise.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 09-12-2019

Answers :

I have a 99 olds intrigue 3.8l Autozone computer states poor electrical connection or short circuit, or failed vehicle spped sensor or drive gear mechanical fault. speedometer works sometimes and drives great next time it raises rpm and speedometer does not work. Where is the speed sensor or where is the elctrical circuit I can check to see if connections are good.
