Having problems with your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am ?

My 2002 Grand Am will not start, when ignition is turned on nothing happens with the starter, not even a sound from the starter, everything else works. I took off the starter and had it checked and it checked good, also checked the battery and it is good, all connections are clean. Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem? Any test that I could do?

I have a 2002 Grand Am also. I had this same problem twice. The first time it happened, the battery was still working but was not strong enough to crank the car or make any noise under the hood at all. All electrical stuff worked though (lights, radio, etc). So i bought a new battery and everything was back to normal.
\015\012The 2nd time this happened, the passlock system was shot (the passlock system is a type of security device the car has installed in it.) When i inserted the key, everything worked, but nothing coming from the engine. I had to take the car to a dealership and get it replaced for around $400. If you look online you can find other ways to avoid the dealership and fix it yourself, but that could result in making something else not work as well.
\015\012Hope this helps in some way.
This happened to my car also. When you turn the key so the electric is\015\012just on and see that there is a security light on there....keep the\015\012electric on until the security light starts flashing and then\015\012immediately turn the car off and it should start right up. This may take 10 minutes or so..so keep an eye on it. Hope it\015\012works.
