Having problems with your 2002 Porsche Boxster ?

My 2002 Boxster S suddenly quit running while I was driving it this week. No advance warning of anything out of the ordinary, it just quit. I pulled over to the side of the road, and tried to start it, The engine turns over, but the car will not start. I can hear the fuel pump pressuring up. Can you give me some ideas as to what areas to check? The nearest Porsche dealer is 130 miles from me, and I don't want to have to haul it all that way, for something that may be fairly simple to rectif

1- It can be no spark. Verify if you have spark.\015\012If there is no spark then the ignition module is dead.\015\0122-\015\012It can be a dead injection module. This one is to control turning on the fuel injectors so fuel can go into chamber for combustion. Verify if there is signal to the electrical connectors at your Fuel injectors.
Well, I can only think of one thing that will do this unfortunately on a Porsche it's gonna cost to fix. Timing chain or Belt broke. To verify, pull the distributer cap and have someone turn the engine over while watching the rotor. If the rotor doesn't turn then for sure the timing belt/chain has broken. If it does turn then the problem is possibly the crank position sensor.
