Having problems with your 2002 Saab 9-5 ?

On my 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero I want to tap into 12 volts on the overhead control panel to install a cigarette lighter power outlet to plug in my GPS (I prefer the GPS mounted above my field of vision). I would prefer a source of power that goes off with the key off. My GPS is a Gamin and it gets a little cranky and won't charge it's self if the power isn't just right on. Any suggestions?

Hello. You will have to check each of the hot wires in the overhead panel to see which if any are controlled by the key. If you do not have one, you will have to run a new wire. If you do not have the equipment and or knowhow to do this safely go to an auto electric shop. They specialize in this kind of thing, have the tools and the supplies on hand and know exactly how to do it. J.
