Having problems with your 2002 Saturn Sl ?

Two problems okay..

\015 One okay is sometimes my key is hard to turnover to start the car, yes my car has a locking mechanism on it but it seems harder than usual. does this mean my ignition needs to be replaced?\015\012\015\012Two my car is a stickshift, sometimes when im shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears its hard to get it in gear.. my clutch seems fine. do you think my clutch needs replacing?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-06-2019

For the key issue, try shooting some wd-40 into the tumbler, and working the key a bit. If that doesn't correct the issue, eventually you will need to replace the tumbler.

The hard shift is most likely not related to the clutch. As long as the vehicle has good acceleration, and you don't feel slipping, the clutch is fine. The issue may be related to a damaged cable, or to the linkage at the transmission itself.
First thing to do is to get a new key cut (has to be a saturn key), then lube the tumbler with a penetrating oil like wd40. Second is it only 2nd to 3rd , or is it other gears too.If only 2/3 shift you could be trying to put it in between gears 3rd &5th.
