Having problems with your 2002 Toyota Tacoma ?

Check engine light is on. I had the a scan done and this is the reading Definition: fuel sensor heater circuit response (bank 1 sensor 1). Problem: Open or Short circuit condition and Poor electrical connection. I have no clue where the problem is? My 2002 Tacoma Pre-Runner runs great. Any help would be great. Thanks K

First you need the actual codes #
\015\012Sounds like O2 Sensor,as you discribe it
\015\012Do not throw parts at it.
\015\012You may have a misfire and unrelated codes set also.
\015\012Go to a good shop and be part of the diagnostic process. Stay there and learn all you can. If they won't educate you ,go elsewhere.
That's also known as the oxygen sensor. It sends a signal to the computor when to richen or lean the air fuel mixture.
\015\012It's usually screwed into the exhaust pipe by the exhaust manifold.
\015\012If you have a V6, I'm not sure which side is bank #1, I don't have my manual at this time. The one down by the cat converter is sensor #2, you don't want that one.
\015\012 Look around near where the exhaust pipe connects onto the manifold, you should see a sensor screwed into the pipe with a wire connection.
\015\012 If you find it, check the wire connection and the wire. If both are good , change the sensor, but check the wire good first.
