Having problems with your 2003 Acura 3.2TL ?

I have a 2003 Acura TL with 60,000 miles and the transmission went out on Monday, June 1, 2009. The recall in a letter June 2004 was to install an Oil Jet Kit, which the Honda/Acura headquarters says it was done on 9/16/04 and discoloration was not found. But the problem diagnose on Monday was the 2nd gear not getting the cooler transmission fluid. I heard that Acura extended the warranty for these transmissions for a length of time and mileage. My 2003 Acura has 60,000 miles and is now 6 years

Answers :

My '03 Acura transmission went out at 72,000, & 4 years old in '07. Same thing - 2nd gear. Acura wants to exchange your tranny with another, rebuilt one. Go to one of the transmission shops, i.e. Midas, etc. They rebuild yours for $2,800, with one year warranty. There are no more gears in trannys, only electrical switches.
Have you tried writing customer service with your complaint. I think the warrenty was extended selectively to 100,000 mls. Make your case
