Having problems with your 2003 Chevrolet Impala ?
Changing spark plugs 2003 Impala 3.4 eng. i.e. removing and reinstalling upper intake manifold
\015 I've never changed plugs in this car. It has nearly 94,000 miles. Descriptions say you must remove the upper intake manifold to replace the firewall side plugs. How difficult a job is this? Will it require more tools, such as a torque wrench and/or new manifold gaskets?\015
I have a 2003 chevy Impala and it's not so difficult. Try using a small ratchet that fits in the palm of your hand, I can't remember what it is called. To install the plugs use an extension and put a couple of the card board pieces from one of the spark plug boxes in between the new spark plug and the spark plug puller socket, this will hold the new plug in place while you work with the extension. When screwing in the plug you will have to go by feel so move the extension back and forth like a light jiggle while turning to avoid cross threading the plug. After the plug is tightened attach the ratchet and slightly torque into place.
Not that hard just a tight fit have someone do it with little hands lol
