Assuming that the starter is cranking over, my first guess would be that your fuel pump is on the way out. however, it could also be a myriad of other electrical problems (which aren't worth worrying about just yet).
\015\012When you first turn on the ignition (without going so far as to engage the starter), do you hear a light "whirring" noise coming from the gas tank area? most vehicles' in-tank pumps are loud enough that you can hear them when you turn the key (provided that accessries such as fans & radio are off) as the fuel system is being pressurized. if you can't hear the fuel pump, there is a pressure tap on the vehicle's fuel rail (looks like the valve for a bike tire). if turn the ignition on for about 5 seconds, then turn it off, you can check to see if the system pressurized by taking off the dust cap on the pressure tap and usingsomething like a ball-point pen to depress the valve. ***NOTE: Wear eye protection when doing this as the fuel can spray all over the place. Also, Make sure you've turned off the ignition before doing this or the system could recognize a drop in pressure and continue spurting out fuel!***
\015\012If you get a half-hearted stream coming out of the pressure rail tap, the pump isn't creating enough pressure in the system for the injectors to supply fuel to the cylinders. While this could be a sign of a failing fuel-pressure regulator valve, the issue generally lies with the pump itself.
When my Dodge did this it was because the fuel filter was clogged. The filter in the tank itself had also become clogged after awhile. Try checking the fuel filter and the air filter...you would be surprised at what a little dirt can really do.
\015\012Run a small diagnostic test as well...
\015\012turn your key to the first position, count the number of times the lights flash on your dash...(this is a code) you can use the code to determine quite a few problems. Look up the code on line or call a mechanic and tell him how many times it flashed.
\015\012Hope this helps.
