Thanks for that the power source will be a 2.5 hp honda engine alternator ? as i need to charge at about 40 amp its the regulator, i need to know, i know u can get one that keeps the batterys in good order but i dont know the name of it. i live where there is no mains electricty so i have to make my own, bulk of power comes from solar but i still need a stand by source of charging as a battery charger needs 230v supply the generator needed uses alot of fuel where a small engine will use a lot less
It would be a very complicated way of charging a battery . Apart from having to have a power source to spin the alternaftor around you will also need a voltage control system (regulator) or else you will cook the battery. Unless you really know what you are doing i wouldn't recommend it
\015\012Surely it would be cheaper to get a regular battery charger.
