Let me assume you have a 4 port heater control valve (4 water ports and 1 vacuum line). I have fixed several and they only leak for a short time before the valve completely breaks and you lose all coolant immediately. (not good) The leak is caused by the elbow piece that threads into the control valve. The threads just deteriorate and come apart. this repair is very easy and can be done yourself for under $30 dollars by going to your local auto store and purchasing a new one. Im also going to assume its not a hose you were specific about the valve. I guess if you were in an emergency and needed a quick repair that may or may not work long you could always epoxy or cement the defective piece together but this wouldn't be recommended except in the case that it is (a) not your car and; you dont like the owner:-). I hope this helps

I had three start to leak withing a two week span from the hole the arm goes through. They were all the everco brand from Napa/autozone etc. Buy it from the dealer. Its $45 but it is built much better and hasn't started leaking yet (one month)
