Having problems with your 2003 Ford Taurus ?

Audi a4 tdi loss of power after rain

\015 I have an Audi a4 1.9 tdi 2001. the car has loss of power after it rains it is very slow up to 2000 rpm then past 2000rpm the turbo pins you into the seat. Making you look like a prat driving it. Last week it would run for 45 seconds then the engine would cut out. So I have had the fault codes read and have changed the mass air meter and the turbo sensor, and new battery, it ran great all week 400miles(in the sun shine) then it rained yesterday and it is back to having loss of power at the bottom end but can still rev to the red line nothing comes up on the dash board\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-09-2021

Answers :

Replace the actuation solenoid as this unit can be affected by dampness.
Quick way around this as a fast fix is diconnect the vac line to the EGR valve and plug with a screw or pencil. This will stop the valve from opening thus filling the inlet manifold with oxygen starved air i.e exhaust fumes.
Car with then drive normally. Solenoid referred to as N239.
I am having the smae problem with my vw polo tdi apart from its like my turbo cuts out completly and the car will not rev over 3000 at all. there is know lights on in the dash but if its dry weather the car is fine. not to handy when u live in scotland HAHA
