You can change the tps alone. You do not have to change the entire throttle body. It shouldn't be riveted in place, it should have screws or bolts on one side or the other. If it's riveted in place, use a dremmel and grind the rivets off. You can replace rivets with screws on the new unit.
I dont know by what you wrote if the vehical is running or not but I will assume not and tell you what to do first. When you are standing infront of the vehical the wiring harness that goes to the tps left side of throttlebody pull on each wire specialy the yellow one , look at each wire very closely if they are not smooth round and perfect the wire is broke under the coating. look at those wires very close going to that throttlebody right at each plug . I mean with in 1 inch and closer to the plug. check real good is that yellow wire broke? I have had a few of those wireless tbi's sent to me after shops gave up and looking at wires normaly you cant tell but they break like the yellow wire mainly. Also GM has revised the whole unit and they recommend replacing it with the new revised unit.
