Power steering pump is clicking and whining

\015 I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced. When I picked the odyssey up the power steering pump was making a loud whining noise when I turn the wheel. Fluid is brown color and has bubbles. It also has a clicking noise.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018

It seems who ever did the work may have removed the power steering pump to access the water pump and timing belt. After refilling they failed to bleed the air out or possibly left a return hose loose causing the pump to **** air hence the bubbles. The brown color in the fluid may indicate they have reused dirty fluid to refill the pump. Unfortunately if you have driven any distance with the air in the pump it will most likely need to be relaced.I would call the place who did the work and register a complaint.
It sounds like the power steering hydraulic system has air in it, causing the pump to whine and the bubbles to show up in the fluid. The clicking noise is probably just the power steer pressure switch operating normally, but you should probably take it back in to the repairer and get them to check it over if you're concerned. They should not have given it back to you if the power steer was not bled up properly, or at the very least should have advised you that it was not fully bled, but would come right after a couple of days.
