Based on the very limited amount of information given, in general when the brake light comes on it could be for a variety of reasons but it is always best to start simple. Open the hood and somewhere towards the back you should see a plastic container that houses the brake fluid. It should have a warning on top about using only DOT approved brake fluid or some similar warning. Check the level as indicated on the outside of the brake fluid tank. If it is low add to the proper level. The fluid level will be low because you either have (A) a leak or (B) your brakes are going to need to be changed soon. Adding fluid (should) make the light go off but you should have the brakes inspected ASAP and most places do it for free.
