Having problems with your 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

2003 jeep cherokee laredo- loses rpms and speed and sputters and

\015 Per previous tech support, we have changed out the crank sensor and ran fine for a couple days then started doing the same thing again so not sure it was the crank sensor. Seems like it does then after reaching the 2nd gear and my mechanic has it hooked up to some type of computer reading while driving as this just does it sporadically and when it does this the computer does not have any reading seems like it looses all contact in the computer system. Could this be a wiring problem, throttle position sensor or do I need a new computer system?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 08-08-2022

From what you have written, the problem does at first, appear to be a possible crank sensor problem, however, If your mechanic drove it with a "flight recorder" on board and lost communication with the computer, I'd start looking for an electrical malfunction that is depriving the computer of power. Possibly a poor harness connection, ignition switch etc. Could also be an internal computer problem as well, but I'd hold that for last, after all testing has been completed.
