Clunking in rear end Jeep Liberty 3.7 automatic

\015 Vehicle has 63,000 miles and never a lick of trouble until the clunking in the rear end started. clunking happens off and on but, at times is so loud people stop on the side of the road to look. I thought at first the sound was that of a flat tire because of the way it started but now I notice it going forward intermittantly and when it does it shakes the rear end.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 27-01-2020

Answers :

Nearly impossible to tell you what it is without actually hearing and seeing it. I recommend that you check the rear universal joint, pinion bearing and wheel bearing assemblies for looseness. If it's that loud it shouldn't be too hard to find.
