When the car died can you still turn the engine over/crak it? if not and the battery is dead than it could be your alternator faulty. if you still able to crank and turn the engine over than we can eliminate alternator and the battery together. Many factor can cause the car to died if its not your Alt and Batt, being 2003. 1st always check fuse and relay making sure there are not blown. Second, check distributor cap and rotor contacts and third check if you getting sparks and fuel. It need both in order for the engine to run. no fuel than it can be your fuel pump, no sparks, coil bad or cam sensor is faulty. if you plan to do you your own work, if you not mechanical incline I recommend that you go down and purchase Haynes auto repair book at any auto part store, big help when it come to repairing your own car. Start from here and re post what you have done and one of us will continue to help and walk you through it if you like or take it to the dealership they can plug that car up to the computer and it will narrow it down for them. Other way you can get them to diagnose the problems spend 75-80 bucks to have tell you what the problems is and fix it yourself.
Well, after six years and how many miles?
\015\012Should have been doing periodic maintenance as per the owners manual. Check the basic three, fuel delivery, spark and air flow.
\015\012Verify the timing, sounds like its about time for a timing belt. Can you do a compression check? Need a great deal more information before being able to point you in a better direction.
