Having problems with your 2003 Nissan Sentra ?

The car is a 2003 nissan sentra spec v. the gas gauge only goes up to 3/4 when i fill it up. sometimes it will take a while for the needle to reach full and sometimes, it will stay at 3/4. i tried to put more gas but it would not let me. i dont know what the problem can be.
