Having problems with your 2003 Pontiac Sunfire ?

2005 Pontiac Sunfire, can't get the rear drums off, is there are retaining clip or something attaching it to the centre hub? It is prying around the edges and the wheel studs ok, but stuck on the hub.

Answers :

I think the brake shoes have a hold of it. Try smacking it with a hammer, make sure the E-brake is off. If that doesn't do it, you will have to release the tension on the shoes by going in the back of the drum and turning the adj screw. It is slow going, but the only thing to do. The brakes are grabbing the edge of the drum where it is not worn. It is not much, just enough to drive you nuts trying to get it off. Check it out.
