VW Golf TDI enjin power loss and shudder at certain temperature

\015 Hi. I have 03 VW Golf TDI.(74000mi)Recently, when the temperature gauge gets to a certain point, I suddenly loose power. It is as if I'm only running on three cylinders. The engine sound a bit rough and the car jerks a bit. After a minute or so when the temperature gets above a certain level, it all stops and all is fine! I'm convinced its got something to do with the temperature since it happens like clockwork and cannot be coincidence. The temp gauge has been playing up as well and sometimes it just drops like a stone from the normal reading for a while and then jumps back up again. I have read that it could be something to do with a relay or the engine temperature sensor. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-03-2019

Answers :

I think i would be inclined to look at the coil pack ,and the wiring for this where it comes from the ECU ,i have never come across this before but its possible if the ECU isnt passing the correct information to the coil pack to fire in the right order ,what about the crank position sensor wiring are they shorting somewhere ?' Have a good look at the wiring and if necessary take the black outer sheafing off to inspect the wires inside
