Having problems with your 2003 Volkswagen Passat ?

New battery in 03 VW Passat, engine turns but will not start.

\015 Car has been outside in -20 degree weather for 2 days. New battery purchased from VW dealer was changed on second day. After a couple of start trys there is noticable gas smell. Gas tank is 3/4 full. All fuses are good including one for fuel pump. All appropriate dashboard lights work during engine turnover.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-07-2021

Possible flooding, cold weather can freez open injectors causing them to leak into the cylinders. Press the gass pedal all the way to the floor and crank the engine for no more than 60 seconds. The cylinders will clear themselves allowing proper mix of air/fuel and should start easy. If that does not solve please specify if the engine is 1.8l or 2.8l.
