Having problems with your 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche ?

The oil pressure gauge on my 2004 chevy avalanche is bouncing all over the spectrum, from ''0''-''80'' PSI without any affect on the performance of the engine. The needle will usually peg at 80 PSI, or drop to 0 and then stay there. Inclines and declines seem to have some affect on it as well. What could be causing this?

Answers :

It is probably the gage cluster. chevy has had a problem with this and it was recalled. so you might go to your dealer and ask him if they will replace the cluster. mine did that to but as time went on all the other gages went crazy or stopped working .i had to replace the cluster.
A bad ground wire most likely. check and see if it is oily or not making good contact alowing it to be jumpy,
