Having problems with your 2004 Chevrolet Aveo ?

My 2004 chevy aveo (manual transmission)is making a grinding noise in front.my husband has replaced the wheel bearings and has rotatedthe tires,but it is still making this noise.it goes away when turning to the left and starts bak up when turning to the right.he is wondering if there cound be a problem with the transmission?there is no where to ckeck the transmission fluid.

Answers :

Check the brakes and make sure the pads are not down to metal and hitting the rotors.If the brakes are good then check the backing plates behind the rotors and make sure they are not contacting the rotors.I don`t think it is the transmission because it goes away when turning.Check this out and let me know what you find.I checked for any bulletins and found none.Hope this helps.Good luck.
There is also a carrier bearing on passengerside of cv shaft and make sure the tire isnt rubbing the wheel well. then if theres is any more questions after those are checked then im more than happy to help. have a good day. josh/jwtbagger
