Having problems with your 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier ?

Car stalled and wont kick over but appears to want to crank..seems to not get fuel. Mechanic wants to charge over $500 to fix the fuel pump. Is this legit-cost wise?

The pump is $250. Labor is about 3 hrs. Sounds close. :-(
